A couple of days ago, I posted a trike designed by N55 in collaboration with Till Wolfer. The single seat version is available as open source plans for a recumbent trike that requires no welding and is made of standard aluminum. I see what may be a couple of design faults but these may be from me not understanding the design completely.
Most commercially made velomobiles are designed for speed and not to bring home the groceries. I know you can put bags in nooks and crannies, between your knees, behind your shoulder and under the seat. But would not a velomobile designed as multipurpose vehicle not be feasible?
My minds eye see a cargo carrier with doors that open from the outside making it convenient to access the storage space. My minds eye also see a front end and tail box that would gently open the modules of air and close them behind you at higher speeds.
Carrying capacity would be adequate for touring. Maybe have some unique features added like a seat that would lay back and become a sleeping cot. Open both side doors with netting attached that would allow a breezeway for sleeping or closed for all-weather protection.
I wish I had skills to use illustration software adequately to present what I see in my minds eye.
