This morning, having tired of reading of Amsterdam, Copenhagen and other bicycle heavens, I found my way back to bicycle evangelist Kent Peterson and his message of making it work where your at. Sans car, Kent is a unique person both in lifestyle and accomplishments.
The evils of car ownership and indulging in mas pollution, economic strife and downright lust over pagan NASCAR races has led so many of us astray. As Bro Kent prophecies , there is a better tomorrow. A tomorrow of bike lanes, bike parking lots and pollution free transportation.
Kent’s Bike Blog is the site where I found the neat Coroplast handlebar basket a few days ago. Little did I know where this simple find in life would lead me. It took a second look, but I’m glad I took the time to look around his lengthy but well written blog.
I quote this from the pen of this simple bike mechanic. “So I advocate for bicycles and preach, not of salvation in the next world, but of finding a way in this one. I write of trails and traffic, of gears and gradients, of wheels and wonder. I speak of two wheels and balance.” And here you can find the rest of his story.
I’ve really enjoyed many of Kent’s posts, I hope you do also. BTW I found some more about the man here. I like a man that sticks to his guns.
