A number of years ago, longer than I like to remember, but not so long that I don’t remember, I lived in Garland Texas. My son was a teenager and had taken up bike riding/racing with some of the other kids in the neighborhood. One morning they asked if I would like to ride with them. And I did. About 2 miles and I tuckered out while they were warming up. I walked the bike back home that day. I begin to ride some daily though and before you knew it, I was riding about 5 miles out and then back to the house.
We had a family printing company in Plano, Tx at the time that was about 8 miles from home. It finally dawned on me that my daily ride was more than the distance to work. That began my several year ride to work and ride to almost anywhere I wanted to go. I was sometimes taking 100 mile rides on the weekend.
I ran across this blog today that brought back those memories. Ride you bike to work. I have some of the same recollections as the author. Main one was how much better I felt. Riding a bike makes you feel GOOD.
